Mandatory Water Conservation Measures Expire Due to Improved Missouri River Water Quality Conditions in Williston

June 7, 2013

Residents Encouraged to Voluntarily Conserve Water in Homes and Businesses

The mandatory water restrictions that were announced earlier this week for businesses and residents in the Williston, Watford City, Trenton, Williams Rural Water District, and McKenzie County Water Resource District service areas are being lifted as of Friday. The water quality of the Missouri River in Williston has improved, which has allowed the Williston Regional Water Treatment Plant to increase its capacity. In addition, public cooperation in reducing demand by means of conservation measures has restored reservoir levels much more quickly than anticipated.
